Our goal is to understand how our minds and brains process language, how language interacts with other aspects of mind, and how we can learn languages of quite different types. The Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Psycholinguistics in Nijmegen is a research institute entirely devoted to the study of language. The assistant will assist with recruiting participants, helping with setting up the experiment in Zoom, and annotating the interactions in speech (Dutch) and gesture. ![]() We are seeking one student assistant to help with the Department’s research on multimodal language use in Zoom interactions and how interactants reach mutual understanding and alignment in different Zoom set ups.
